Meet The People Who Created HAV

HAV is a family-owned business with a senior management team made up of Jim, Rob and John. Their business principals, financial strength, commitment to integrity and teamwork form the foundation on which their partnership has been built. We believe in building more than just beautiful homes and neighborhoods; we believe in building the places you love to call home.

Vice President – John Prodan
John Prodan (JP) manages all field construction and assists Rob managing land development activities. He is responsible for developing plans, ordering materials, overseeing field activities and following each building project from start to finish. He graduated from East Carolina University in 1994 with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. Prior to joining HAV, in 1996, JP was a construction laborer and has experience in a vast array of construction trades. JP began his career with HAV as a field superintendent and managed the construction of over 1000 homes before moving into the office to manage the entire construction team in 2023. It is rare to find someone with JP’s knowledge and dedication to both his team and the quality of the homes they deliver.

President – Rob Prodan
Rob, who is also Jim’s son in law, joined HAV in 1997, and is responsible for all land acquisition, entitlement, sales and works with JP on land development activities and architectural designs. Rob began in the building industry as a framer, and in 1988 he formed his own company, Prodan Construction Company, Inc., specializing in custom framing and minor renovations. The hands-on experience that Rob and JP possess has enabled HAV to continually improve building processes and the quality of the homes we deliver.

Chairman – Jim Arnhold
Home Associates of Virginia was founded in 1990 by industry veteran Jim Arnhold, a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach. With nearly 50 years of real estate experience Jim provides a steady hand and invaluable experience in support of JP, Rob and the entire team at HAV. Jim has been a real estate broker since 1973 and has been involved in many of the projects that have shaped South Hampton Roads. Jim was named King Neptune XL by the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival and tirelessly works with area charities, particularly Equi Kids and Equi Vets ( www.equikids.org ).
