There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the holidays in all cities of Hampton Roads. Here are just a few of many fun events through the month of December to get you in the holiday mood.
If you missed the Million Bulb Walk, you can still visit Norfolk Botanical Gardens to drive through and see The Dominion Energy Garden of Lights from December 1 to December 31st. Featuring more than a million twinkling lights, this display was voted #8 for Best Light Display in the country through USA Today’s 10 Best Contest in 2014. The Sandler Center has plenty of shows available including Symphonicity’s 35th Annual Handel’s Messiah Sing-A-Long on December 23rd at 7PM. Admission is free! Donations are certainly appreciated but not expected.
Dickens Christmas Towne returns to Half Moon and Nauticus in downtown Norfolk to showcase the charm of London as written by Charles Dickens, along with an even bigger line-up of activities and entertainment. Check out the 120 foot long waterfront maze for children, an interactive space with larger than life talking book and bookworm, plus free activities, games and crafts. Virginia Stage Company presents A Christmas Carol at the Wells Theatre. Enjoy this heartwarming story through December 24th. The company is also sponsoring a Comfort & Toys Drive to collect canned goods and stocking stuffers for survivors at H.E.R. shelter (Help, Emergency and Response). Bring an item or two to the theatre and enter a drawing to win a %500 tabletop display from Pottery Barn.
